Sizzlin’ September Concert to Feature The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will be the headliner of Meredith’s 2009 “Sizzlin’ September” concert on Friday, Sept. 18.
Gates open at 7 p.m. for the show, which will begin at 8 p.m. Rain location is Dorton Arena on the NC State Fairgrounds.
The show is the fifth annual “Sizzlin’ September” concert to be held at Meredith. The concert is sponsored by the Meredith College Campus Activities Board. Performers are chosen with input from the student body.
On the day of the show, all traffic should enter the Meredith campus from Hillsborough Street. Alcohol, coolers and outside food and drinks are prohibited at the show. Food and drinks will be available for sale at the concert.
Ticket Information: Meredith students, faculty and staff can purchase tickets for $5. Public tickets are $10.

Stillwater Theatre to Present “The Grinning Man”
Stillwater Theatre Company, Meredith College’s professional theatre company in residence, will present “The Grinning Man” by Alex Smith this month in the Studio Theatre of Jones Hall on the Meredith College campus.
Show times are September 18-19 and September 22-6 at 8 p.m., and September 20 and 27 at 3 p.m.
Show Synopsis: Husband and wife Eliot and Gale are owners of The Phoenician, a successful exotic flower shop. As they close shop for the day, they are visited by a mysterious and menacing customer, the Grinning Man. Who is this man? Why is he so disturbingly familiar? Secrets and lies, apparitions and mysteries...the debut production of a nightmarish new work. Adult themes and strong language- parental guidance is suggested.

Meredith Picked to Capture USA South Women's Soccer Title
Meredith College, under the direction of ninth-year Head Coach Paul Smith, was picked in the preseason coaches' poll to win the USA South Athletic Conference women's soccer title in 2009. The Avenging Angels are the defending USA South Tournament Champions. Last season's tournament crown was the program and school's first-ever Conference title. This fall, Meredith will attempt to improve on its second place regular season finish from a season ago.
Meredith received six of ten first place votes (77 points) as head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.
