Benefits Fair Scheduled Oct. 28
Meredith’s annual Benefits Fair will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 28 on the West Side of Belk Dining Hall. Employees are invited to stop by any time between 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Hosted by the Office of Human Resources, the Benefits Fair will include information on employee benefits such as health, dental, vision, retirement and more. Flu shots, free chair massages, and door prizes will also be available.
Speaker to Discuss Federal Government Jobs on Oct. 20
Over the next three years the federal government will undergo a major hiring surge for “mission critical” jobs and it is anticipated that 270,000+ jobs will be available.
As a way to educate the Meredith community about the federal government and opportunities available, Meredith’s Academic & Career Planning staff invited Kimberly Ainsworth, an Annenberg Public Service Speaker, to visit campus on October 20. Ainsworth, executive director of the Greater Boston Federal Executive Board, will discuss careers in federal government with students.
Ainsworth’s schedule includes a reception for faculty and staff from 9-9:30 a.m. in the Academic & Career Planning Resource Room, 2nd Floor Park Center.
Faculty and staff are invited to learn about opportunities for students and alumnae in the Federal Government during this informal session. RSVP by Friday, October 16 to career@meredith.edu.
Meredith Ensemble Theatre to Present “Ruthless! The Musical”
Meredith Ensemble Theatre will present “Ruthless! The Musical” from October 27-November 1. Show times are October 27-31 at 8 p.m. and November 1 at 3 p.m. in Jones Auditorium.
Show Synopsis: Eight-year-old Tina Denmark knows she was born to play Pippi Longstocking and she will do anything to win the part in her school musical. Anything includes murdering the leading lady! This aggressively outrageous musical hit garnered rave reviews during its long Off-Broadway run — so don’t miss the fun!

ID Students Earn Award at Southern Ideal Home Show
Meredith College Interior Design Students Donna May and Danielle Alfano, under the internship program at Professional Home Staging and Design in Raleigh, won a second place award for best booth design at the Southern Ideal Home Show held September 23-25.
The students designed a booth for the green pavilion using all sustainable materials, including green paint, green ink in the signage, a cork floor and furnishings with green fabrics.
