SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM PROPOSES
NEW ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE
eredith’s Senior Management Team recently proposed a new administrative structure.

The senior management team began examining new organizational models in July 2001 following LaRose Spooner’s retirement as vice president of marketing, and Mary Johnson’s resignation as vice president of executive and professional programs.

The proposed structure is similar to the temporary structure put into place last summer. Meredith will continue to operate with four divisions — institutional advancement, academic affairs, student development, and business and finance—with each division being led by a vice president.

The proposed structure also calls for the addition of three new positions. An associate vice president will be added
in both the student development and the business and finance divisions, and a position will be added in Meredith’s academic affairs division to coordinate the college’s Executive and Professional Program efforts.

The senior management team’s proposal was distributed to administrators at the beginning of November, and it was also announced during the November 2 faculty meeting.

Meredith faculty/staff members have the opportunity to give their input on the proposed structure through the end of the current semester. Meredith’s permanent administrative structure will take effect at the beginning of the spring 2002 semester. The searches to fill any new positions are also expected to begin early next semester.
