Nutshell Notes Claire McCullough, assistant vice president for graduate and professional studies at Meredith College, has been selected as the North Carolina Career Woman of the Year by the statewide Business and Professional Women's organization. McCullough was nominated for the honor by the BPW/Raleigh. (See article in April 2004 Nutshell). The class of 2005 is collecting recipes from Meredith students, faculty and staff. When submitting recipes please include your name and department. Submit recipes via email to: The Meredith Votes-sponsored "Meet the Candidates" event and debate viewing party held on Sept. 30 generated media coverage. The Meet the Candidates forum was covered by WTVD (ABC –11), while WB-22 covered the debate viewing party. Clyde Frazier, professor of political science, is teaching a six lecture series on the presidential elections through NC State's Encore program. On Oct. 15, he did a presentation on political parties for the legal support staff at the Womble Carlyle law firm, and on Nov 9, he will be speaking to the Triangle Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators on the way that the press covers business. Dan Fountain, assistant professor of history, was featured on Oct. 26 in a WRAL/WRAZ news story about the effectiveness of negative campaign advertisements.
