Nutshell Notes
Fall Orientation will be held Aug. 14-18. If your department would like to include brochures, literature, flyers or information in new student packets, please send those to Suzanne Slawinski in the Dean of Students Office (2nd Park) before Friday, July 30. Please make 425 copies for first year students and 125 copies for transfer students. (These numbers are for duplication purposes only and do not reflect the actual number of accepted, deposited students.)
Meredith College will hold "Asia Week" September 27-October 3, 2004. Sponsored by the Mercer-Kessler Fund for Religion and Art, "Asia Week," with theme days including Asian Visual Arts, Music and Dance, Health and Medicine, and Environments of Harmony, will feature workshops, lecture-demonstrations and other Asia-related events. Faculty members are encouraged to incorporate "Asia Week" into their course planning for the fall. Pre-Holiday Shopping Trip to New York City - Join Meredith alumnae on a pre-holiday trip to New York City this November 12-14. Plans include a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Frick Museum, walking tour of Chinatown and Little Italy, a special reception to meet New York alumnae, and free time to shop, eat and see Broadway shows. The cost for this trip is $699/per person double occupancy or $599/per person, quadruple occupancy. A $300 deposit is due Sept. 1, and the balance is due Oct. 1, 2004. Price includes airfare, transfers, accommodations in a first-class hotel in a great neighborhood, and admission to museums and tours. Make checks payable to Meredith College.
