Meredith College has received two awards from the Council
for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in district

who work in alumni relations, communications, and development.
District III includes colleges and universities in Alabama,
Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South
Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Traditions and Transitions, Merediths 1999-2000
Annual Report was awarded a "Grand Award," the highest
award in the category. Written by English department faculty
member Suzanne Britt, Traditions and Transitions chronicled
President Hartfords first year in office. The Office
of Marketing and Communications designed and edited the publication.
Other institutions competing in this category included the
University of South Carolina, the University of Georgia, and
the University of Virginia School of Medicine. CASE judges
evaluated the technical quality of the publication, including
writing and design.
The Office of Marketing and Communications won a CASE (District
III) Award of Excellence for the media relations efforts resulting
in coverage of Meredith's technology and math/science initiatives.
The entry, which was selected from a total of 20 entries,
included news releases, tip sheets, media advisories, descriptions
of media relations tactics used and copies of all of the news
stories that resulted.
The award-winning Meredith College entries will be on display
at the next CASE conference in Atlanta, Feb. 3-6.
