The 2000 edition of Oak Leaves, the Meredith College
yearbook, won second place in the American Scholastic Press
Associations annual yearbook competition. Writing, photography
and page design are judged. Blair Ligon, adjunct instructor
of art, serves as yearbook instructor. The student staff of
the 2000 Oak Leaves was led by Ashley Cooper (editor)
and Katherine Jones (art director).
Campus Police Officers Robert Ludtke, Melinda Fuller,
Donald Appleford, and Jean Trevathan recently graduated
from Wake Technical Community Colleges one-week supervisors
course. The course involves security and police training and
In calendar year 2001, Meredith faculty/staff raised
more than $25,000 in gifts to the College and more than $22,000
is currently pledged by this group for 2002. The Office of
Institutional Advancement is grateful to faculty/staff members
for their gifts to Meredith through the payroll deduction
program and other gifts to the College.
News & Observer columnist Ruth Sheehan will
speak on campus February 20, as part of Publications Week.
The Publications Board invited Sheehan, whose column appears
each week on Mondays and Thursdays.
Meredith College offers a Faculty-Staff Aerobics Class each
Monday and Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the Weatherspoon
Gym movement lab. The class is free, and no sign-up is required.
