Talk to Cover Fabrics and Fashion from the Crusades

Meredith Professor of Human Environmental Sciences Diane Ellis will present a talk about fabrics and fashion in the time of the Crusades on Monday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. in Martin 113. A reception follows the talk.

Pocketbook, handbag, purse. Whatever you call it—it was first used by the Crusaders – men! Come see what other fabrics and fashions of today began in the time of the Crusades.

Lecture counts as an academic/cultural event in general education.

This event, which is free and open to the public, is part of Meredith’s “5 o’clock Scholars” program. It is co-sponsored by Medieval and Renaissance Studies and Human Environmental Sciences.
