Rotondo Receives Women in Business Award
Meredith College Senior Vice President for Academic Administration Denise Rotondo is one of the 2010 Women in Business Award winners. "The Triangle Business Journal" honored 26 businesswomen in the Raleigh-Durham area Thursday at the 13th annual Women in Business Awards event.
"This year's winners represent the best in our communities--achieving professional success while also contributing to social causes and raising strong families," Charlene Grunwaldt, publisher of "The Triangle Business Journal," said in the announcement. "They exemplify what the Women in Business Awards are all about."
Rotondo has served as dean of the School of Business and professor of business at Meredith since 2006. She is serving a term appointment as senior vice president for academic administration. As dean, Rotondo led the School of Business' efforts to earn accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). In 2010, Meredith joined the five percent of business schools worldwide to hold AACSB accreditation, becoming one of only two women's colleges in the country to have earned this distinction.
Prior to joining Meredith, Rotondo served as associate professor of management and associate dean of the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Md. Rotondo holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida, and an M.B.A and Ph.D. from Florida State University.
In addition to Rotondo, Meredith College MBA Program alumna Paige Humble also received a 2010 Women in Business award. Humble is a 2008 graduate. She serves as director of marketing at Duke Raleigh Hospital.
Profiles of the honorees are featured in a Women in Business Awards special section that was published in "The Triangle Business Journal" on August 27. Click here to read more.
