Meredith’s NC Museum of Art Project Closes Aug. 29, 2010

"Meredith Interprets the North Carolina Museum of Art," an exhibition created by Meredith College students, will be on view through August 29 on the second floor of Johnson Hall.

The exhibition was one of the College's responses to the reopening of the NC Museum of Art last April. During the spring semester students in Art, Fashion and Interior Design classes completed projects in which they chose one or more objects from the Museum's collection and interpreted them as part of a class assignment.

The resulting exhibition contains more than five dozen objects from almost three dozen students. While most of the classes had an ART prefix, almost two-thirds of the exhibiting students came from either Interior Design or Fashion, along with students from Communications and French.

The project was led by Meredith art faculty member James Boyles.
