Meredith Hosts International Film Festival
Meredith College will sponsor an International Film Festival during the 2011-12 academic year.
The series is coordinated by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and sponsored by the Meredith College Diversity Council, the Alliance Française of Raleigh- Durham-Chapel Hill, the Office of International Programs, the School of Arts and Humanities and the Dept. of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Meredith College.
The film festival begins September 20 with a showing of “Bread and Tulips.”
Film Description: Left behind by a domineering husband at a highway café, Rosalba detours to Venice. With romance, a private detective, a holistic beautician and her husband’s mistress on the scene, things are likely to get out of hand. Will Rosalba stay in Venice or go back to life as it was? ITALY/2000 114 mins. In Italian with English subtitles. Directed by Silvio Soldini

February 8: “Moolaade”
March 14: “Biutiful”
All screenings are free and open to the public and are held in Kresge Auditorium. Refreshments are served at 6 p.m. and film screenings begin at 6:30 p.m.
