Meredith Graduates Well-Positioned for the Future

As Meredith’s Class of 2013 celebrates commencement, there are many indicators that this year’s class is well-positioned for successful futures.

The success found by the previous graduating class is one such indication. In a survey of Meredith's Class of 2012, over 90% were either employed or attending graduate school within 9 months of graduation.

Companies and organizations that have hired new and recent Meredith College graduates include SAS Institute, Credit Suisse, BB&T, RTI International, Wake County Public Schools, Bank of America, Duke Behavioral Medicine and Michael Kors.

Graduate and professional schools attended by new and recent graduates include Yale, Duke and Vanderbilt Medical Schools; Wake Forest University School of Law; University of California at Berkley; Cornell University and Columbia University.

Meredith’s Class of 2013 profiles include:

• Erica Rogers, who earned majors in music and Spanish and will attend law school next year;

• Amparo Zelaya, a mathematics major, one of several Meredith graduates hired by Credit Suisse; and

• Presidential Scholar Kagure Wamunyu, who earned a mathematics degree from Meredith and a civil engineering degree from N.C. State as part of Meredith’s dual degree engineering program. Wamunyu received a full scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in city planning at the University of California, Berkeley.

The Value of a Meredith Education
Meredith College was ranked third among best regional colleges in the South by U.S. News & World Report, a “Best College in the Southeast” by Princeton Review, and in the top 20% of colleges in the country by Forbes.

Meredith College has also been ranked by U.S. News as #9 on its list of “Great Schools, Great Prices,” a ranking that takes into account a school’s academic quality, and the 2011-12 cost of attendance for students who receive the average level of need-based financial aid.

Meredith’s cost of attendance is below the U.S. average for private colleges and universities. The College coordinates $42.5 million in financial aid for its students each year, including more than $15.1 million in scholarships and grants.

More importantly, alumnae, those who know Meredith College best, report high satisfaction with the Meredith experience. In a recent alumnae satisfaction survey, 98% of alumnae reported they would recommend Meredith to others, and 96% say they would enroll again.
