Meredith Ensemble Theatre Presents Kabuki Lady Macbeth

Meredith Ensemble Theatre will present “Kabuki Lady Macbeth” by Karen Sunde, conceived by Shozo Sato in February.

A retelling of Shakespeare’s story, this drama presents the Bard’s story from its heroine’s point of view, exploring her desires and motives. Three witches called Light, Shadow and Destiny lead us through the tale. As they warn that balancing light and dark, brave and gentle, is the way to a happy life, they wickedly midwife Lady M’s transformation from gentle lady to snake demon.

Performances are Tuesday-Saturday, February 16-20 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, February 21 at 3 p.m. in the Studio Theater of Jones Hall.

Tickets: Meredith students, faculty and staff can attend free. Public tickets are $10 general admission, $5 for students/seniors.

Call the Meredith College Box Office at 919-760-2840 or email boxoffice@meredith.edu to reserve seats.
