Meredith Designers Raising Money for Lung Cancer

Meredith College alumna Jordan Jaked, ’11, and a team of fashion designers will put their designs to work in a special fashion show, White Out Lung Cancer, on Friday, June 15, 2012. The event will be held at Burning Coal Theatre at 6:30 p.m.

Jaked, who lost her mother to lung cancer, wanted to create an event that would combine her and her mother’s love of fashion to support the North Carolina Lung Cancer Partnership. All designs in the show will use only white, ivory and silver fabrics, reflecting the ribbon colors that symbolize the campaign to raise awareness of lung cancer.

Many of the designers participating are Meredith College alumnae or current students.

The show has earned coverage in The News & Observer. Click here to read the full story.
