Meredith College tornado relief efforts are focused on assisting members of the Meredith community and the community at large. There are several ways to get involved.
There are students, faculty and staff members who have immediate needs in the aftermath of Saturday’s tornadoes. Donations are being collected to fund necessities such as food, clothing and lodging for these Meredith community members.
Cash and check donations for the Meredith College Tornado Relief Fund are being accepted in the Office of the Vice President for College Programs (1st Floor, Johnson Hall) and in the Office of Student Leadership and Service (2nd Floor, Cate Center). Make checks payable to Meredith College.
Please make donations if possible prior to Easter break.
Meredith students, faculty and staff who have immediate needs as a result of the tornadoes are asked to notify Dean of Students Ann Gleason at 760-8521 or email@example.com.
Service Project to Support Shaw University
Shaw University sustained extensive tornado damage and has closed for the remainder of the spring semester. Meredith community members are invited to participate in a workday to help with clean up at Shaw University.
The workday to help Shaw University will be held on Thursday, April 21, from 3-5 p.m. Transportation will be provided; volunteers will board the buses in front of Johnson Hall at 2:30 p.m.
Sign up by emailing Tabitha Underwood in the Office of Student Leadership & Service at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteers will need to fill out a medical release form and liability form in advance. Tabitha Underwood will email the form to each volunteer at sign up. Note: you will need your insurance information on hand to fill out the form.
