Meredith College will be hosting a series of events in 2009-10 through a partnership with the North Carolina Museum of Art while the museum is closed for renovation.
The lecture series begins in September and runs through March. Presented by the North Carolina Museum of Art and the Center for Women in the Arts at Meredith College, this nine-part series is designed to reacquaint people with the museum’s collection and introduce new works of art that will be seen for the first time when the new building opens.
The first event of this series at Meredith College will be held on September 23 at 10 a.m. in Jones Auditorium.
The opening lecture will focus on the History of the NC Museum of Art collection, providing an informal 60-year walk through the history of the museum, featuring colorful stories and the even more colorful personalities who have influenced the development of one of the nation's great art collections.
Doors open 30 minutes prior to each lecture. Lectures are free and open to the public.
