Meredith College DanceWorks 2010 April 23-25

The Dance Program at Meredith will present DanceWorks 2010, Friday, April 23-Sunday April 25 in Jones Auditorium. Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 23-24 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 25 at 3 p.m.

This year, 22 students, one alumna, and two faculty have created works in ballet, clogging, hip-hop, jazz, modern and dance for the camera. The senior class will perform a collaborative work and the freshman class will perform under the direction of faculty member Carol Finley.

The weekend is organized into Program A for emerging artists including student artists in their first year of choreography at Meredith plus the freshmen class dance, and Program B for mainstage artists including veteran student choreographers plus work from alumna Brenda Burton and faculty member Talani Torres. On Sunday evening an adjudicated Gala with work from both programs will be performed.
