Lacrosse Wins 2014 USA South Championship in 2OT

Meredith Lacrosse plays Piedmont

The second-seeded Meredith College Avenging Angels lacrosse team upset the top-seeded Piedmont Lions in Saturday's finals to capture the 2014 USA South Women's Lacrosse Championship title on Saturday, April 12. Meredith won 15-14 in double overtime.

Six Meredith players were named to the All-Tournament Team, including Tournament Most Valuable Player Katie Burnet. Burnet will lead her team in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament set for early May.
