Communication Club Service Project Supports Operation Christmas Child

Communication Club students pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child service project

The Meredith Communication Club sponsored a service project on November 13 to support Operation Christmas Child. More than forty Meredith community members joined together to pack shoeboxes with gifts for needy children.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, a non-denominational evangelical Christian humanitarian organization that works worldwide to assist people in physical need. Operation Christmas Child, specifically, is a project where thousands of people work together in churches, organizations, and other groups to pack Shoe Boxes for needy children around the world.

“Our goal is to come together as a community and to make a difference in a child's life,” said Communication Club Social Chair Jennie Robinson.

Items included in the gift boxes include small toys, school supplies and toiletries.

This is the second year that the Communication Club has sponsored a service project for Operation Christmas Child.
