Alumna’s Work in Special Ed Recognized by Wake County Public Schools



Meredith College alumna Brittany Phelps, ’11, has been recognized by the Wake County Public School System for her work in special education.

Phelps is a special education pre-K teacher at Green Hope Elementary School. She was recognized with a 2012-13 Friend of an Exceptional Student Award because of a nomination from the mother of a student with cerebral palsy.

At Meredith, Phelps earned a degree in child development and completed birth to kindergarten licensure.  She was a member and officer of Meredith's chapter of Kappa Delta Pi - International Honor Society in Education.
