Alumnae Play an Important Role in Recruiting New Students
Greetings from the Office of Admissions! Over the next few months, there will be opportunities for alumnae to participate in our Spring Alumnae Recruitment Focus Week, attend local or out-of-state college fairs with our admission counselors, host events for admitted students, and attend the “updates” college fair training at Reunion Weekend in May.
The Spring Alumnae Recruitment Focus Week will take place during the week of March 3-7. Alumnae will email admitted students to help yield admits to deposits. Alumnae can encourage students to visit campus if they have not visited yet and register for Experience Meredith, our biggest admitted student event, in March. If you have not emailed students in the past and would like to send emails to students during the Spring Alumnae Recruitment Focus Week, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Admission counselors will begin their spring travel in February and will continue to travel to local and out-of-state fairs in March and April. Our counselors will be traveling to areas such as Charlotte, Alamance County, Guilford County, Duplin County, Nashville, Tampa, Dallas, and Atlanta. I will be reaching out to alumnae volunteers in these areas to help at local and out-of-state college fairs and connecting them with the respective admission counselor. Training is required before attending a college fair, so please email if you’re interested in receiving the training information from last year!
The Alumnae Office and Office of Admissions will collaborate on events in the spring for admitted students. These events will take place in various territories and alumnae will be hosting students at various venues. Thank you to all the alumnae who have already volunteered to be hosts for these events this year!
As a reminder, The Office of Admissions would like to utilize alumnae to identify and encourage prospective students to apply to Meredith. This alumna referral process is for alumnae to identify prospective students who would be a good fit for Meredith. A student’s application fee will be waived once she is referred by an alumna. We hope this process will generate more applications and encourage students to visit campus. Access the waiver in the alumnae section of meredith.edu.
Finally, I will be conducting an “updates” college fair training this spring on campus during Reunion Weekend in May. Alumnae who were trained last year are welcome to come back to hear updates about the college. For alumnae who would like to attend a college fair in the future, I encourage you to attend the training in May to learn more about college fairs and the role you will be playing. Stay tuned for more information to come later this spring about the training!
Thank you to all who have volunteered with the ARMS program thus far and have expressed interest in volunteering in the near future. The stories and experiences you share with students are important for building and shaping each new class of Meredith students.
Please email me at email@example.com if you have any questions! I look forward to working with you this year!
