Cori Spade, ’13, a recent graduate of Meredith’s fashion program, has been selected for Charleston Fashion Week.  She is one of 20 designers chosen from 175 entrants for the event’s Emerging Designer Competition. Charleston Fashion Week will be held March 18-22, 2014.

The Emerging Designer Competition is an opportunity for aspiring designers living in the Eastern United States to showcase their talent on the runway at Charleston Fashion Week and gain the attention of national press and buyers. Designers must present collections for Fall 2014 or Swimwear/Resort 2015 and include 12 looks. For more information on the competition, visit the Charleston Fashion Week site

Earlier this year, Spade showed a collection during New York’s famed Fashion Week. She won the opportunity through the Third Annual Trend*Setting Fashion Show in June. Through the competition, Spade was chosen to create a Spring/Summer 2014 collection for a Designer’s Review showcase.

As an undergraduate, Spade also won accolades for her work. In 2011, Spade was a finalist for the International Textiles and Apparel Association’s Paris American Academy Scholarship.
