Meredith’s Academic & Career Planning (ACP) office offers a full schedule of programs to support students as they choose a major, apply for internship or jobs, or explore graduate school opportunities. ACP events and services emphasize networking, exploring career fields, and making connections

Encourage your student to attend ACP events, including the following:

March 20—Major Meetup
5:30-7 p.m., Cate Center
Meet Meredith alumnae who share your major and learn how they launched their career from their field of study. Dress up in business casual or professional attire, and bring your business cards…you never know when you might make that crucial connection to getting your first job or internship!

March 20, March 27, April 3, April 17, April 24—Jobs Search Group
4-5 p.m., ACP.  Register on Careerlink.
A jobs search group specially designed for graduating seniors. Meet other seniors who are also searching for jobs after graduation, share coffee and be a resource and support network for one another.

March 24—Etiquette & Networking Dinner
5:30-7:30 p.m., Belk Dining Hall. Register on Careerlink under Career Events by March 17.
Everything you need to know about etiquette and how to be professional in a dinner meeting or business situation! Includes:

  • three course meal
  • meeting and conversing with successful Meredith alumnae
  • etiquette lesson
  • practice navigating in and out of business conversation
  • managing missteps
  • negotiating social faux pas

March 24 & 26—Choosing My Major
2 – 3 p.m., ACP. Register on Careerlink by March 18.
For freshmen and sophomores who want to explore their options and want to declare their major based on their passions, strengths, and future career potential.

March 28—Non-Profit Fair
11 a.m.-1 p.m., William Peace University
A great opportunity to find jobs and internships in the nonprofit area, especially for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors! Suit up in your best professional attire and be prepared to network and impress with well-written resumes and business cards.

March 31—Spring Career Fair
9 a.m.-2 p.m., McKimmon Center, NCSU. Shuttle service provided.
With over 50 employers & graduate schools coming, this is the perfect opportunity for any Meredith student to network and search for opportunities. Talk to recruiters face to face. GET HIRED.

April 9—Health Career Expo
12-4 p.m., Talley Center, NC State
Especially for students considering careers and graduate school in health and medicine fields. Meet graduate and professional school representatives in health fields.

May 6 & 7—2Day Boot Camp: Just in Time
All day, ACP.
Register on Careerlink by April 30, 2014.
This is a helpful and excellent two day workshop/bootcamp for the college senior who graduates in May and needs a refresher or crash course in job hunting skills.

June 12—Recruit NC Alumni Only
11 a.m.-3 p.m., McKimmon Center, NC State
Meet and network with companies who want to recruit the best talent in North Carolina. A golden opportunity for college graduates searching for jobs.
