Watch highlights of the Class of 2014 officially becoming graduates of Meredith College.

Approximately 450 degrees – both bachelor's and master's – were conferred during the ceremony, which was held at Dorton Arena in Raleigh, N.C. on May 3, 2014, and drew a crowd of 4,000.

Zawadi Africa Founder and Coca-Cola Executive Susan Mboya delivered a moving commencement address focused on empowerment. Senior Class President Yailyn Polanco spoke on behalf of the undergraduates and Regina Bryson, who earned a Master of Education, spoke on behalf of the graduate students.

For the second year, graduates formed a circle of light – to represent "Lux" from the College's seal – as President Jo Allen gave the ceremony's closing remarks.
