| So
you walk across the lawn, and there it is. The Serpent. It's about a
fourth of a mile long if you could stretch it out. Amazing. So who made
this, and why did they make it? It's in Ohio...is there anything else
quite like it? What kind of mound is it? Is there anything in the mound?
What do people say about the design? Did the mound have a purpose -- how
was it used by its makers?Who rediscovered it in the middle of the 19th
century? It was almost plowed down by farmers...who saved it and
who is protecting this old snake now?
Why
should we want to know about this American Indian earthwork? |
