Sequoyah

Up

He was the first to write, singlehandedly, a nation's language.  His own people thought he was a witch.  How did this man, who apparently did not read English, create the Cherokee syllabary -- or the "Talking Leaves," as they were called?  Tell us how he convinced the Cherokee that his creation really worked -- it's a great story. Where was he born & where did he die (you'll be surprised to learn this)? Did he ever go by another name?  A genius if there ever was one.  Somebody's just got to tell us about his life and what he accomplished.
