New Topic: Southeast Pottery

This one's a
great topic that can combine archaeology, art, and a hands on component. Want to show the class how NC pottery was actually made? How was clay prepared, built into a pot, decorated, fired? What were special Cherokee styles? What is "tempering?" How were clay vessels used? When was pottery first made in the SE?  What about that "Head Pot?"  You become the expert!

Mr. Kincheloe has a great resource on everything about the early American Indian pottery of NC.
Ask him for this!

Another useful website is http://www.nativetech.org/pottery/index.html   This is great for a hands-on approach to traditional Indian ceramics.
