Lamar Stringfield Chamber Music Camp
A non-residential camp for boys and girls ages six through high school who have had at least one year of experience playing string instruments.
Campers can sign up for one session or both sessions.
Six-day camp, Sunday–Friday:
First session: June 13–18, 2010
Second session: June 20–25, 2010
Top-level clinicians from around the country work with local string students and teachers. Instruction includes classes in string orchestra training, string technique, chamber music, sectional rehearsing, theory and eurhythmics. Students have formal and informal performance opportunities, which culminate in a performance on Friday. There is a supplementary Honors Chamber Music program for advanced players. Students are chosen to participate in the Honors Program by audition. Adult college credit and teacher renewal credit are also available.
