Six-day camp, Sunday - Friday.
First session: June 15-20, 2008
Second session: June 22-27, 2008
Students may register for a single session or for both sessions.
Campers include boys and girls ages six through high school who have had at least one year of experience playing stringed instruments.
Top-level clinicians from around the country work with local students and teachers. Instruction includes classes in string orchestra training, string technique, chamber music, sectional rehearsing, theory and eurhythmics. Students have formal and informal performance opportunities, which culminate in a performance on Friday. There is a supplementary Honors Chamber Music program for advanced players. Students are chosen to participate in the Honors Program by auditioning May 2. Adult college credit and teacher renewal credit are also available.
