To Qualify for a Music Scholarship:

Music Scholarship Competition

After the initial music audition, potential scholarship winners will be invited to return to the scholarship competition. The date of the scholarship competition for the 2008-2009 academic year is February 17, 2008. To be considered for a scholarship, you should have been admitted to Meredith by that date.  To receive and retain a scholarship, you must remain a full-time music major, maintain at least a 3.0 grade-point average on all music courses taken at Meredith, and fulfill all requirements for music majors, including those in your specific applied study.

If you are invited to return for the scholarship competition, you may perform the same repertoire that you presented in your audition.  In addition to performing in Carswell Concert Hall for the music faculty, you will have one or more interviews with faculty committees.  You will also meet finalists competing for other merit scholarships (Presidential, Honors, Interior Design, Art) during this exciting weekend.

Scholarships for Graduate Students

The following scholarships for graduate students are awarded on the basis of academic record, musical ability, evidence of achievement, and evidence of potential:  the Beatrice Donley Voice Scholarship, the Musical Arts Guild Scholarship, and the Harry E. Cooper Scholarship.

Meredith College admits qualified women students without regard to race, creed,

sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, age, or disability.
