Meredith College Office of the Chaplain
Meredith College seeks to maintain an environment that is supportive of all faiths and ideals. The College Chaplain provides guidance for the development of religious programs on the campus as well as a pastoral presence for the campus community. She also seeks to engage the campus community in meaningful social issues--poverty, issues of race, interfaith understanding, women's issues--knowing that God calls us to live out our faith in in ways that better our world.
Chaplain, Rev. Stacy Pardue, is available to the Meredith community for counseling pertaining to religious questions, religious vocations, and personal problems. The ministerial staff offers lectures, programs, small group and counseling opportunities for the campus at large.
Students seeking help in finding a place of worship in the Raleigh community may contact the Chaplain's office. Regardless of one's faith heritage, the staff is available to provide help to students as they seek a faith community with which to affiliate. The Chaplain facilitates the Interfaith Council, comprised of the presidents of the each campus religious group, which serves as a resource for interfaith understanding and dialogue.
Meredith offers weekly worship services on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in Jones Chapel called "The Gathering". These services are informal, interactive and infused with creative arts.
Students are invited to visit with the staff and make use of the Jones Chapel Meditation and Reading rooms. We encourage you to come by the office to tour the Chapel and to inquire about programs being offered.
