Faculty Member’s Research Shows Communication is Crucial After Prostate Cancer Diagnosis: Prostate cancer is often referred to as a couples’ disease.  Not only do couples have to deal with the stress of a life threatening disease, but also with the fact that treatment can often cause impotence and other sexual dysfunction. Charles Grant, Meredith associate professor of communication, says communication between partners is crucial after a prostate cancer diagnosis.  The ways in which spouses communicate about the disease and its effects impacts the stability and quality of their marriage. Grant is the author of a study that looked at the way couples interact after a prostate cancer diagnosis. For more information, Grant can be reached at (919) 760-8831 or GrantCh@meredith.edu.
