Dietetic Interns to Hold Nutrition Seminar for Senior Citizens
Students in Meredith College’s Dietetic Internship program will offer a seminar in “Nutrition Dos and Don’ts for Seniors” on Friday, Aug. 17 at 10 a.m.
The event will be held at Saint Saviour’s Center in downtown Raleigh.
The presentation will provide wellness information to low income seniors. The lesson will include how to eat nutritiously on a low budget, food safety, and cooking for one. A recipe demonstration will
be given, and the seniors will be able to reinforce what they have learned through a game of bingo.
Saint Saviour’s Center is an independent 501c (3) non-profit organization established by Christ Church in partnership with the Raleigh Housing Authority. It provides a variety of services with special attention to the public housing residents of Glenwood Towers and The Carriage House.
Meredith’s ADA-accredited Dietetic Internship program enables post-baccalaureate women and men to build on an undergraduate education by providing the knowledge and supervised practice experience needed for dietary professions.
