Meredith MBA Student Participating In Stock Contest
Meredith MBA student Kathy Hughes is one of six contestants in The Triangle Business Journal’s Stock Derby, a six-month investing contest. Each participant is asked to mock invest in five stocks at $10,000 apiece for a total starting portfolio of $50,000. After six months, the newspaper will tally the values of the portfolios. The investor with the highest portfolio value at the end wins. Hughes, vice president of operations at Atlantic Creative Communications, is competing against MBA students from UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State, Duke and North Carolina Central University.
