The Meredith College Department of Sociology and Social Work and the Meredith College Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance will host a presentation of “Like a Ship in the Night” on Wednesday, April 11 with Ipas, an international women’s health organization out of Chapel Hill.

“Like a Ship in the Night” highlights three women out of thousands who travel from Ireland and Northern Ireland to England each year to obtain safe, confidential abortions.    

The documentary will be shown at 6 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium and will be followed by a question and answer with Ipas Executive Vice President Dr. Anu Kumar.

The screening is free and open to the public.
