Meredith College freshman guard/forward Brittany Cornelius, of Rockwell, N.C., has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week.

Cornelius grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds against Averett University on February 13 and also added 25 points and four assists for her second double-double on the year. On February 15 against Salem College, she scored 15 points and snagged eight boards. She finished the week with 13 points and five rebounds against Newport News Apprentice.

For the week, Cornelius averaged 17.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. She averages 15.6 points and 5.9 rebounds on the season.
