Faculty Positions in Mathematics

Meredith College seeks qualified candidates for two positions of Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. The positions will be available in August 2008. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Mathematics Education. Areas of specialization that will complement the interests of the current faculty include number theory and combinatorics. The successful candidates will be able to: 1) teach a variety of mathematics courses, 2) employ a variety of teaching techniques, 3) use technology in the classroom, 4) continue professional development in the specialty area, and 5) supervise undergraduate research. The yearly teaching load of 21 credit hours will include both general education courses and courses taken by majors. For one position, preference will be given to candidates interested in teaching introductory statistics. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
