Computer Science Camp
June 23-27, 2008
for middle school women
Do you enjoy playing games and emailing your
friends on the computer? Have you ever wondered
how the Internet works or how to build a web page?
At Meredith's Computer Science Camp, you'll get to:
Work one-on-one with computer science faculty and other mentors;
Experiment through hands-on activities;
Share and expand your computer knowledge with other students your age;
Add to your understanding of computers; and
Experience computer science in a college environment
What: Come to Computer Science Camp at Meredith College and enjoy daily hands-on sessions. You will explore the basics of programming languages and learn how to write code to build a website. Your leaders will be Meredith College computer science faculty and students. Each day will feature fun games and activities to help you learn.
When: Monday-Friday, June 23-27, 2008 9-5
Who: Any girl currently in sixth through eighth grade is invited to apply for Computer Science Camp.
How: The deadline for application is May 15 and selection is based on demonstrated interest or ability in computer science. Apply early to be given preference in selection. Send in the application form and one-page essay explaining why you want to attend Meredith College's Computer Science Camp.
Fees: Tuition for the week is $350 per student. Full and partial scholarships are available. Fees include lunch, instructional supplies, activities and a Computer Science Camp t-shirt. Fees are due once you are accepted to the camp.
