Mathematics and Computer Science
The Meredith College Department of Mathematics and Computer Science provides graduates with a solid foundation for active participation in a society growing increasingly dependent upon technology. Our majors and minors are creative, capable, confident and ethical in their mathematical reasoning and problem solving abilities.
The department emphasizes
- quantitative literacy and technological fluency,
- conceptual and logical reasoning,
- the use of technology for conceptual understanding and significant computation,
- and design and implementation of programming solutions.
The department offers majors in mathematics and computer science, minors in mathematics, statistics, mathematics/computer applications and web development, and options for teacher licensure.
