Support Meredith Student in Miss America Competition Meredith student Hailey Best is representing North Carolina in the 2012 Miss America competition. You can support Best in an online competition that will select one finalist. Visit http://missamerica.org/videocontest/ and scroll down to view the video for Miss North Carolina. Voting closes on January 12, 2012. Best won the Miss North Carolina title in June 2011. She will participate in the Miss America pageant on January 14, 2012. A vocal performance major at Meredith, Best won the Miss North Carolina preliminary talent competition by singing opera.
