CSI Week at Meredith College October 24-28 is CSI Week at Meredith College. Learn more about a variety of careers in law enforcement and crime investigation. This series of events is sponsored by the Sociology and Criminology Program and the Sociology & Criminology Club. The schedule of events is as follows. Monday, October 24 9-9:50 a.m.: Assistant Director of Detention Services Samuel Higdon, of the Wake County Sheriff’s Department, will talk about the Wake County jail, and the booking process. Joyner 207 10-10:50 a.m.: Meet the dogs from the Raleigh Police Department Canine Unit, in the quad between Harris Building and the Science and Mathematics Building. 11-11:50 a.m.: A current intern in the Wake county Magistrate’s Court will talk about the role of magistrates in the justice system. 12:30-1:50 p.m.: FBI Special Agent Michael McNeely will speak about the FBI and his experiences with the agency. Ledford 101 Wednesday, October 26
12-12:50 p.m.: A forensic anthropology graduate student will discuss this field. Ledford 101 Thursday, October 27
2-3:20 p.m. Representatives from the Raleigh Police Department’s Gang Suppression Unit will speak in Kresge Auditorium. Friday, October 28
12-12:50 p.m. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer and a Meredith student intern will speak in Ledford 101. Meredith College is the first women’s college in North Carolina to offer an undergraduate major in criminology. Click
