Flu Vaccine Clinics at Meredith College

Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the single best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated each year.

Maxim Healthcare Services will be administering influenza vaccine on campus during the following flu vaccine clinics. The clinics are open to students, faculty, staff and eligible family members.

Monday, September 19 from 4-7 p.m., Science/Math Atrium
Monday, September 26 from 12:30-3:30 p.m., Kresge Auditorium
Tuesday, September 27 from 12:30-3:30 p.m., Kresge Auditorium

*Eligible family members may attend these flu vaccine clinics. Children ages 4 – 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Meredith students 17 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The 2011-2012 flu vaccine will protect against 2009 H1N1 and two other influenza viruses: an H3N2 virus and an influenza B virus. http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/keyfacts.htm The CDC also recommends receiving the vaccine as soon as it is available.
