Students Share Their Favorite Meredith College Traditions As part of our summer series of student advice, Meredith’s Office of Admissions asked a group of rising sophomores, juniors and seniors to share some of their favorite Meredith College traditions. “Guardian Angel Dance and Tea for Two. These events are about a significant male in your life and a significant female in your life. Meredith College includes our parents or significant male and female role models in our lives and it is truly a bonding experience with your class and your family.” —Brittany Murray, ’13 “Cornhuskin’!” —Coley Ledford, ’13 “My favorite Meredith tradition would have to be Class Day. It is a great way to celebrate the Senior class, but it is also a way to celebrate the bond between the sophomore and senior class.” —Angel Jackson, ’13 “Fire and Water dinner. It’s so classy and definitely reflective of your freshman year. I’m glad that I went.” –Onisha Walker, ’14 “My favorite Meredith program is the one that hasn’t happened for me yet: the Alice in Wonderland play. It only happens once every four years and the next time it rolls around is spring 2012, so you new Meredith students are in luck! I haven’t heard very much about it and the little I have heard I can’t tell you. But it will be awesome!”— Cecelia Blair, ’14 “I have participated in almost all Meredith traditions but Spring Formal stood out for me. It was so much fun dressing up for the event and having fun with my girlfriends. I also loved Cornhuskin' .It was so much fun competing with the other classes and preparing for it.” — Rodda Akelo Ouma, ’14 “The Fire and Water Dinner was my most memorable experience because that was when I looked back over my freshman year and saw how far I had come from my first day on campus as a new student with no idea where my classes were to where I was now as a rising sophomore with a new sense of confidence and a feeling of belonging to the Meredith community.”--Sanaa Bhatti ’14 “My favorite tradition is the Big Sis/Little Sis program.” —Cristina Rivera, ’14 “Ring Week. It's the week that the junior class gets their class rings. The whole week they wear rings that represent the theme of their class and at the end they have a ring dinner. I can't wait for it!” –Paisely Murff, ’13 For this series, we’ll post responses to questions about the Meredith experience, academics and campus life at least once per week throughout the summer.
