Students Share Their Most Memorable Meredith Experiences As part of our summer series of student advice, Meredith’s Office of Admissions asked a group of rising sophomores, juniors and seniors to share their most memorable Meredith experience. “Stunt! It is incredibly fun and not much of a time commitment. The weather has been beautiful both years for Stunt. I love that there is fun competition and that the classes get to cheer on each other through the different activities.”—Jade Rice, ’13 “It’s a tie between winning the spirit stick at Cornhuskin’ sophomore year and having the opportunity to study abroad in Iceland.” —Coley Ledford, ’13 “My most memorable experience thus far has been Class Day. Getting to carry the daisy chain, singing to my big, and hearing about her four years at Meredith was a great way to close out my journey as a Lil’ Sis and celebrate my Big Sis’s journey.”-- Angel Jackson, ’13 “Performing a classical rendition of Ghostbusters in Jones Chapel on Halloween night while wearing masks, dancing with inflatable ghosts and battling bouncing basket balls that were being caromed at us by the audience. That is the probably the oddest and most surreal experience I have ever had in my entire life. Whatever else you do at Meredith, don’t miss the Halloween Concert!” — Cecelia Blair, ’14 “Stepping at Cornhuskin’. It was so much fun and as far as I know it wasn’t done before.” –Onisha Walker, ’14 “I have had many memorable experiences. Coming from a different culture and country, my memorable experience has been getting to understand the American culture and also the people. The experience has really molded me to be a strong individual with an open mind. I always liken it to study abroad whereby you go to a country which has a different culture from yours.”— Rodda Akelo Ouma, ’14 “Aqua Angels Synchronized Swimming! I chose to join Aqua Angels freshman year, and I fell in love with synchronized swimming and with the team. Every semester we put on a show for the school. Leading up to the show are practices, musical selection, choreography, show week, and team dinner. There are so many great moments that happen in our amazing group.” –Paisely Murff, ’13 “My most memorable experience from this past year has been attending LeaderShape over the few weeks of summer that have passed. It was so life changing and it helped me to clearly see what change I want to see in the world and what I can contribute towards that.” —Cristina Rivera, ’14 For this series, we’ll post responses to questions about the Meredith experience, academics and campus life at least once per week throughout the summer.
