Student Fashion Shows April 30 & May 1
Students in Meredith’s fashion program will present their senior fashion shows April 30 and May 1.
Collision, April 30
Brie Sherman and Katy Pigford will present “Collision” on April 30 at 5:30 p.m. in Johnson Hall Rotunda.
The students’ description of their show is:
“There once was a time when the world was divided. On one side lived a girl who called herself TREKKER CHIC. She was from a land where untamed prints, bright colors, and embellishments GREW WILD AND FREE. On the other side lived a girl who was named a HOPELESS ROMANTIC. She was from a land where pastel colors, feminine prints, and RUFFLES FELL FROM THE SKY. One day their worlds COLLIDE bringing chaos that ignites an UNEXPECTED JOURNEY.”
All Shades of Spring, May 1
Meredith Busey and Lindsay Kay will present “All Shades of Spring” on May 1 at 4 p.m. in the courtyard by the Science and Mathematics Building. (Rain location: SMB Atrium).
The students’ description of their show is below.
“Meredith Busey and Lindsay Kay are tickled pink to invite you to “All Shades of Spring,” our Senior Fashion Show. If you are feeling a little bit green at the thought of your upcoming finals, or blue thinking of leaving your friends for the summer, then come enjoy our show! The perky prints, gorgeous gathers, and ever-so-flattering flares will blow you away.”
Both shows are free and open to the community, with a reception to follow.
At Meredith, fashion students can choose between two concentrations: merchandising and design. The merchandising concentration prepares students for professional careers in fashion retailing, including store management, buying, visual merchandising, fashion coordinating, fashion editing and consumer services. The design concentration equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain jobs in the area of fashion design.
