Meredith Siren System Tested March 29
Meredith College conducted a test of its campus siren system on Monday, March 29. The test took place at approximately 9:50 a.m. This was only a test of the system, not an actual emergency.
Meredith has a siren warning system that allows the College to issue warnings for incidents involving safety and security issues. This system has both alarm and voice warning capability.
Prior to the test, announcements of the scheduled test were made to campus community members, members of the media, and to those in areas near Meredith.
In the event of an actual emergency, when you hear the siren wail, that means you should take cover in a building. Once the all clear siren sounds, that means the emergency situation is over.
