Official Athletic Complex Opening Sept. 1 The official grand opening of Meredith College’s new athletic field and track complex will be held Tuesday, September 1. The celebration of this new phase of athletics at Meredith will include the following: 4 p.m. - Meredith Student, Faculty and Staff Fun Run 5 p.m. - Meredith Avenging Angels Cross Country Meet vs. Peace College 6:30 p.m. – Dedication and Official Opening Ceremony 7 p.m. - Meredith Avenging Angels Soccer vs. Guilford College The grand opening is free and open to the public. The event will also support two charitable efforts. The Meredith Student Athlete Advisory Committee is collecting can food for their annual USA South Cans for the Conference competition. The Meredith College Alumnae Association is sponsoring a cookie sale to benefit Cookies for Kids Cancer, an organization started by Meredith alumna Gretchen Holt.
