Meredith College Names New Head Tennis Coach Rachel Gale has been named Meredith College’s new head tennis coach. Gale was promoted from her assistant coach position to take the helm of the Avenging Angels program. Gale brings 16 years of championship level tennis to Meredith. She is currently ranked #1 in the USTA North Carolina 35 and over and #6 nationally. Gale served as the Team Captain of the 2009 United States Women’s 40 Young Cup International Tennis team on their bronze medal victory over host Spain in Mallorca, Spain. Gale was also honored to join the 2008 United States Women’s Tennis Team to compete in the Suzanne Lenglen Cup International Tennis competition in Antalya, Turkey where her team finished in fourth place. In 2008, Gale was runner up in singles in the 35’s National Indoor and 3rd at the 35’s National Claycourts. Gale holds degrees from Farleigh Dickinson University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
