College Democrats vs. College Republicans Debate

"Meredith Votes," a student-led, campus-wide voter education, registration and Election Day turnout effort, is sponsoring a debate between Meredith’s College Republicans and College Democrats.

This event will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in Ledford 101. Refreshments will follow in the Science and Mathematics Building atrium.

Students from both organizations will be presenting the positions of both presidential candidates on various issues of importance to the Meredith community. The College Democrats and College Republicans will debate their candidate’s stand on the war, health care, the economy and the environment.

The debate is sponsored by “Meredith Votes” and the Convocation Committee.

Earlier this semester, "Meredith Votes" hosted a "Meet the Candidates" Forum, which provided students and other Meredith community members with an opportunity to ask questions of candidates and campaign representatives. Campaigns for all races in Meredith College's district were invited to send representatives to the event.
