2008 U.K. Study Abroad Program Begins

This summer’s Meredith Abroad program in the United Kingdom is underway. The program began on June 30 and lasts until August 5, 2008.

Meredith faculty members Betty Webb, Jeff Martinson and John Rose are accompanying the group of 17 students.

The program begins in the heart of London, in beautiful Kensington Square. Students will experience a variety of theatre, music, dance, art, museums and historic sites. After four weeks in London, the group will head north to Edinburgh, Scotland, spending nights en route in York and Durham. From Edinburgh, the group will travel to the English Lake District before returning home.

Meredith Abroad provides students with an introduction to the culture of the United Kingdom with a focus on arts and government. Courses include Arts, Artifacts and Culture and British Parliamentary Government. This year, students also have the option of taking a course on Muslims in the U.K.

While the group is in the U.K., students will be writing travel journals for Meredith’s web site. Click here to read more.
