Personal Statement

After completing a Master's degree in Iowa at Drake University and spending five years as a psychologist, my love of books led me to return to school to study library science. With a degree in hand from UNC-CH I worked at Greensboro College, Duke, Wake Forest and N.C. State before landing at Meredith in 1986. Over 25+ years the library profession has changed dramatically, but my goal is the same -- to provide the best access to useful resources for our students.

Away from work I enjoy swing dancing and Scottish country dancing. Farther away from work I enjoy good trek, and have been to the Rocky Mountains, Mt. Kilimanjaro, the West Highland Way, Australia, and the Andes in South America. I was born in Danville, Virginia.
